Our dear brother William Tyndale in the 1500’s penned the new word “lovingkindness” to reflect the ancient Godly trait of the abundant mercy of our Lord.
And…we hope in that loving-kind-ness. God is the Author and Finisher of that most wonder-full blessing.
Are you in an apparent terrible circumstance? One where there appears no human way out, or around, or through? Are you perhaps not even moving in the least out of the quagmire? Maybe even doubting the goodness and grace of He who bought you with a price? Many of us have been in this spiritual state in the past…and been delivered.
Here is our assurance to those who are obedient to Him:
Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope for His lovingkindness…
What is this hope? The Psalmist declares, “To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.” Amen!
He continues to press into God, “Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name.”
He ends this with a direct tribute to our Lord, “Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, according as we have hoped in You.”
“We’re so very grateful, our Lord God, that You are the Author and Finisher of our hope…and our faith! Then is none like You, and we do hope in You and Your final deliverance from this vile world, and it’s every evil intention. Praise Your holy and magnificent Name!”
