So, why does Jesus keep commanding this theme of God? In Luke 20.35, God in the flesh states that a special group will “attain” to the age to come of heaven on earth after a resurrection from the dead.
Are we taught that as believers we must “be considered worthy to attain?” Of course not. We’re erroneously taught that all be have to do is “believe.” But that belief is in a western way, not mid-eastern.
The grace of the Lord from His free gift that calls all people to initial salvation will also power us to good works. Eph. 2.10. If we abide, and not remove ourselves from His hand, our fruit will remain.
Over and over the Son of God and His emissaries proclaim the eternal truth that to inherit His kingdom we must be “doing” things. What things? His commands.
Currently, in our polluted doctrines, any “doing” that confirms and helps prove, ans thus protect, our salvation is considered almost legalistic.
Why is this so? How did it happen? We think it’s because Satan has so often influenced church leaders with the false American Gospel that after a while, the quenched Spirit believer will actually follow a bold faced lie. And defend it brazenly as the truth itself. God help us.
Paul says in the last days some will depart and fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. Wow. Another theme that is ignored. “Well, he really didn’t mean that,” we hear. Oh?
So, let us obey our Master with being a doer of His Word. In so “doing,” won’t we then be those who are considered worthy to attain to that age to come?
“Lord God and Master of Your universe, our lives are forever in Your hands. We humbly beg and beseech You for the grace from Your throne to walk worthy. Help us to be those who are “those” who will attain!”
