Our dear brother and martyred apostle Peter wrote that he always wanted to remind his brethren of the things that please God and count for eternity.
This definitely flies in the face of the common notion that the saints need to mind their own business. We are, to a great extent, our brother’s keeper.
But in the midst of his musings, he makes this stunning declaration: we’ve been established in the truth. And, wonder of wonders, it’s already present with us!
Here’s how he puts it:
2 Peter 1:12 12 Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.
Collectively, the body of Christ has established truth from the Spirit to proclaim to not only fellow humans created in the image of God but the principalities and powers in the heavenlies – the fallen angels and demons (Eph. 3).
Established in the Truth…the Jesus truth…the One and Only.
Let us take the courage our Lord said was available, and preach His kingdom gospel in season…and out of our season. To His great credit…His glory! No one who loves hides the Light under a bushel, or in their mind and heart only.
“We’re so thankful that You have ordained that we will be Your friends established in the Truth…You. Like Jeremiah, the fire of that message burns in our bosom, and we can’t hold it in. Set us afire again, dear Lord!”
