This powerful song about the gospel of the kingdom has become a standard of musical worship these days. It’s excellent and anointed. In Christ alone we stand…yes, and in the power of His Spirit, our Comforter and Friend. Be en-courage-d today, dear saint, that there’s no fear of death, but we may know Him in the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings.
Other than the misused phrase “all striving cease,” the words appear accurate. The saints of the kingdom are to strive physically and spiritually to enter the narrow gate, as Jesus Christ and the apostles clearly teach. See our teaching on striving here. The authors of the song probably mean the rest our souls (personality) in the spirit…but have in error neglected the whole counsel of God in this one area.
