If anything is important in the population, maturation, and completion of God’s kingdom, which is His eternal purpose, then His throne and His activities surrounding it ought to offer us clues into the immeasurable character of the Ancient of Days.
And what does our Lord and Master proclaim are the foundation of this most holy, sacred place through the psalmist Ethan the Ezrahite?
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne…”Psalm 89:14a
If He is, or embodies, these attributes as the great I AM, and we saints are to walk like Him by His powerful guidance made in His image, then these too are our attributes. Practicing righteousness and being just in all our behavior is the normal life for a “little Christ,” a Christian. This is the love of God defined by Him in His Word to us. And shown by our Lord Christ Jesus.
Notice what He doesn’t say thru our brother Ethan about the foundation: relationship, intimacy, sentimental love…overemphasized monikers of the modern day feel good church in many areas of the world.
None of that.
Righteousness and justice in our lives are the emphasis and flow in the Holy Spirit from a Godly holy and healthy relationship, closeness-intimacy, and obedience as love. Again, beloved, this is the love of God defined by Him in His Word to us. And shown by our Lord Christ Jesus.
“May we, dear Father, know You rightly and in so doing know Your ways. We desire to live and help be Your righteousness and justice in this evil, vile world and ever increasing disintegrating church system. May we be the visible body that gets a good report like the ancient Philadelphia body in Revelation 3.”
