Saints and those seeking the true God,
When this piece was sent to me, it took my breath away…it’s the best and most frightening piece I’ve read on this eternal theme of God the Father. We owe brother Edward Donnelly of Belfast Ireland a great favor-debt-grace for this work. May it be read and promoted far and wide as a declaration of the part of God that most of us refuse to confront.
Our Master and Lord Jesus spoke quite a bit about hell during His earthly ministry. He also spoke afterwards, warning of it after His resurrection. We’d do well to pay attention.
In His church there are those who say there is no hell, those who say pagans are extinguished into nothingness, and those who firmly believe that hell is a real place with real souls, with eternal retribution.
We here are of the 3rd camp – hell and the lake of fire is very real with the holy Word of God declaring the awesomeness of God’s decree. This decree is that this will be a place that holds not only the evil rebellious created angels and their supreme leader, but also the vast bulk of all created human beings. Jesus told the unsaved religious leaders that they would receive the “greater condemnation.”
Why should this strike fear into the hearts of these evil religious leaders if they knew they would just be extinguished and cease to exist after death? Why would Jesus waste His breath teaching “greater condemnation” if all rebellious sinners are eventually no longer in any form of existence? The Scripture teaches plainly, in our opinion, a different truth.
At this time, there’re over 7,000,000,000 (billion) souls on planet Earth, all created by the Lord Jesus Christ for His and His Father’s good pleasure. Most, His holy Word proclaims, are destined for eternal destruction…the place called hell.
What kind of a God would knowingly do that?
The real living and just holy God, our Master.
