When a real Christian has a real heart for God and His kingdom advancement, he has a heart for the things that burden His Lord. This person does not offer selfish service for what he desires, but in contrast joyfully offers sacrificial service for what God desires.
We need not look any further than our dear brother and real Christian the apostle Paul. He modeled the heart and actions of His Lord Jesus in many ways. Many. And one is echoed in the middle of the book of Acts:
Acts 17:2 And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them (the lost), and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures…
God yearns for none to perish…none. And although He needs no one to fulfill His gospel of the kingdom preaching, He graciously allows and beckons us as “fellow workers.”
How about you? What is your custom with the lost? Those tumbling headlong into a Christ-less eternity…to the lake of fire with the devil and his angels? Do you get your hands dirty like Paul? Like the Acts body? Like Jesus Christ? Or are you like most people today just too busy being busy?
Friend, if not, that is not Calvary love. Let us all beg and beseech Him for the purest of hearts and turn our selfish customs into sacrificial customs. And go to them too, the lost!
“Dearest Father and great God, we humbly confess our need for Your Spirit to create a clean heart for the customs the count for eternity. Evangelism of the lost is on Your heart always. May it be on ours too. Let us prove our love for You by the deeds You’ve prepared beforehand.”
