Those chosen of God, and seekers of the holy God,
(Note: a larger image of the New Idea flow chart is below)
What could be the biggest blockage to unity? And a tremendous, egregious sin to the Lord Jesus?
Could it be the disunity and stonewalling that rears its ugly head when a new idea comes to your group, family, marriage, etc? And when the other parties refuse honorable, rigorous, biblical communication?
Yes, we truly believe this is the case. To help the saints and seekers of God on to the very area that pleases our Father, we offer the following flow chart offered by Jon Zens. You can download the above chart at the link below:
New Idea Comes To Group – Chart
Prideful arrogance and/or fearful refusal to search together will certainly give Satan the only foot hold he needs to blow up your group. Or render it totally ineffective for the Kingdom because it becomes a smooth over, 12 verses of Kumbaya, group hug.
But the pain of the church’s infliction upon itself is almost too much to bear. So we must give the agony and lamentation to Jesus. For 90%+ of the western Christians I know are stonewallers. And when confronted with their sinful method using this flow chart or other Spirit inspired ways, they blow it off. And they blow the messenger off too.
Even if you agree to the holiness of the flow chart below, when it comes to evaluating your own personal or group’s methods in its light, almost all believers I know still refuse to pursue its true truth. And the consequences are catastrophic, and spiritually deadly.
It’s part, we’re sure, of the fellowship of His sufferings. It can be absolutely brutal as those you thought were close brethren and friends turn cold, nasty, and bolt, and shun the inquiry and truth your heart. Joy comes in the morning, but not in the darkness of the night of failed loving fellowship.
So, where you stand in the flow chart? Take the last 2-3 instances of disagreement or an upsetting encounter. Where did your behavior flow? What numbers represented your route? And your group’s reaction?
Well, most Christians immediately go to #2 and reject the first impression. Pretty quickly they descend to #3 and reject the person too. This is the path of the stonewaller. And 99% of us qualify. God help us to be honorable and inquire like Acts 15.
Let us know how else we can help. We at Walk Worthy have a process we can help train, disciple and guide individuals and groups.
