The majority of the Psalms are lamentations much to the dismay of the always-be-positive New Age influenced immature believers in God’s church today. After the Philistines seized him in Gath, David penned this song, Psalm 56, as an individual lament…boy, can I relate…maybe you too.
Towards the end, he declares:
In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?
The Word of God. He praised It. David loved and cherished the Word of God…and the Word became flesh and tablernacled among us mere humans.
In this current day when this piece of mine here is written, we have the wholesale degradation of God’s precious, costly, preserved Word. People in the west, those good people in God’s assemblies who are deceived, who have more Bibles and tools to correcting handle (exegesis = interpretation of the ‘then and there’), ignore His Word by almost never reading or diligently handling the word of truth to show themselves approved. Paul, in 1 Cor. 9.27, warned he bruised his body continuously so he, the mighty apostle Paul, would never walk away from the faith only to be disapproved and cast into the lake of fire for eternity.
Very, very scary stuff.
We heard of a leader in the church, considered an elder too most likely, who claimed he was “too busy” to spend time in God’s Word. And his ministry reflects that fact in his life and the life of those who have accumulated him to themselves for teaching according to their desires (2 Tim. 4.3).
Too busy for God’s Word? God help us…
So…do we praise God’s Word? Do we praise the LORD’s Word? Do we live the Word? Do we prophesy and teach the Word?
Or just a false mis-identified, unholy, high-five, fist bump buddy we call Jesus divorced from His holy, provocative, life changing, dangerously convicting Word?
What did God say to Moses before He killed him in his prime for one mistake?
Numbers 20:12 But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me (the WORD) as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
What did the Creator God of the entire universe say about His Word, spoken from the very mind of God Himself, through the prophet Isaiah?
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.
For all eternity…and how long is that? One of our readers described it this way:
Marc, let’s say once every 100 years God releases a single woodpecker to the top of the Rocky Mountain range in North America (2,800 miles long) and lets him sharpen his beak on them for his natural life. When the mountain range is worn flat, that is the first day of eternity.
Praise His Word, saints. Love His Word. Read His Word. Study His Word. Prophesy His Word. Teach His Word. Ask His Spirit to interpret. Read the proven commentators to enlighten your spirit through the Spirit.
Don’t ever, ever, ever think or say you’re too busy, for God’s sake, for Satan’s deception will overcome you for certain. And the last state will be worse than the first.
“Our dear Lord, our brother Paul admonished us that we are not ignorant of the schemes of the devil. We need Your help every day to stay on the alert and teach others to protect and proclaim Your Holy Word. We praise Your Word!”
