Christ-mass, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving…
Do Christians who know and embrace true truth “celebrate” holy days, or hol-i-days? Why do they in the first place? Do they know the origin and intent of these festivities?
Most New Testament believers don’t observe God’s Old Testament feasts and festivals – the true and sanctified “holy days.” Some of these have already been fulfilled by the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. The only holy day mentioned in the Holy Bible that carries on eternally is the Feast of Booths.
So then, where in the world did modern day Christians come up with the idea of observing, and even “celebrating,” these various holidays? Simple, actually…they got it from the pagans. As we shall see, the religious leaders beginning in the 300’s wanted to accommodate the pagans to make it easier to “follow Christ.” So, poof, a little here, a little there, a compromise here, a compromise there…and before you know it…we have a modern day institutional religion that defends our “right” to “celebrate” since we’re doing it in the “name of Jesus.” Quite a journey, don’t you think?
Why do we, as “little Christs” (Christians), do what we do?

This is not to say that we shouldn’t remember Christ’s birth and its significance, but for religious commemorations or celebrations, we must have Biblical command or precedent!
