DEMONIC MODERN HOLIDAYS (“HOLY-DAYS”) IN AMERICA

Brethren,

Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Halloween, Christmas, etc. For some, these names conjure up pleasant and meaningful times. But what says the Lord God Creator?

Holiday is a modern cultural adaptation of the phrase “holy day.” These true and real “holy days” were set aside by God and for God to be observed and celebrated, like the seven feasts and festivals of the Old Testament. So, the term should really read “hol-y-day.” But, alas, the average modern person, even church goer, is so conditioned to the ways of the world

Some of you may object to the fact that I called these modern hol-y-days demonic. Well, before you rush to judgment, let us recall the Word through the apostle John in 1 John 5:19 declares that “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one,” meaning Satan, the king of the demonic. God never originates or ordains these modern holidays, but speaks against accepting and integrating the customs and habits of the surrounding pagans. So, if not from God, it comes from Satan and his world. Real Christians are behind enemy lines.

As an aside, some in the body of Christ still practice the feasts and festivals. That is their prerogative if they so desire. We know that these were only a shadow of Christ. Now that He is here, there is no need to celebrate these. Moreover, some legalistically and arrogantly preach that if not observed faithfully, one is in sin…and may not even inherit eternal life. These deceived folks are much the same as those who insist upon Saturday Sabbath keeping. We are free in Christ to obey Him implicitly. The Word and the apostle Paul is clear.

Colossians 2:8, 16-17 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ…therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Now then, we do know that the Word in Zechariah 14.16-20 implies at some point we will all keep one Feast for all time: The Feast of Booths
