Torment forever for the devil, beast and false prophet it reads. The ungodly to perish, be destroyed it reads. The effect is eternal. It’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. The final judgement will not be pleasant.
Food for thought. The most heinous torture devised by men perpetrated upon other men is unimaginable to us. That torture however was limited time wise. Even if a person was tortured daily in the most painful and sadistic and inhuman manner for a hundred years, a life time, it would not be as bad as God torturing someone in the most painful and horrendous way for all eternity without end.
If God does so as we are taught to believe, does that make Him as sadistic and overly cruel as the worst of the worse of inhuman monsters that we can catalog from the annals of history? I’m still in the re-thinking mode on this one.

Are you saying you not believe in annihilation?
The reason eternal torment is right is that the God of all the world decides the reward and punishment and gives us the choice – the Jesus sacrifice is just too valuable to Father to have created humans spit in his face..read heb 10.26-31 each day for a month and discover the righteousness of God’s final judgment…
Matt 25.46 – the same word is used for eternal – life and punishment – rev 14 – the smoke goes up forever and ever…
