WHEN TO DISOBEY THE GOVERNMENT [DEAR BRETHREN 36]

June 15, 2020 by jesusislord Leave a Comment

Yes…when necessary

Dear brethren,

The majority of true Bible obeying endure-to-the-end Christians want to discover and obey all of the Lord’s commands. Nothing will stop them from discerning the true truth from the seductive error so often expounded by the church system. These persevering saints know most “sermons” and other religious information disseminated from the west are not much more than another coat of white paint on the tomb.

These saints righty know obeying the pagan government’s laws is God’s holy law for He has instituted all governments and their supreme leaders to bear the sword and keep basic order in the world. However, God’s kingdom has no similarity nor absolutely no truck with Satan’s kingdom…the world system.

What can we glean from the Scripture’s examples?

We see Satan’s declaration to Jesus in His second of three temptations. In this, our Lord never corrects this chilling truth.

Luke 4:5-7  And he (Satan) led Him up and showed Him (Jesus) all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.”

Moreover, the kingdoms of this world, the governments, are in the power of the evil one.

1 John 5:19  We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

What major pronouncements do we see here? The world has much glory for the worldly. The evil one is in control of who receives it. I’ve had many conversations with so-called believers who declare the worldly pleasures they receive are actually a blessing from God. “How do you know for certain,” I proclaim, “that these aren’t actually a curse and a failure on your part to reject them to remain content with what you already have?”

The Bible speaks of subjection to government

Now, the famous Scripture we all quote and teach about our obligation to obey and not resist the authority of our respective governments comes from Romans 13, even though the whole doctrine begins in the 12th chapter with loving our enemy.

Romans 13:1-5  Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;  for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

Nero burns our Christian brethren

Incredibly, we see clearly that the pagan government is a minister of God Himself to avenge Him and bring wrath upon the evil person who disobeys. And Paul warns his audience that we too need to fear them if we ever practice evil against this appointed government and consequently receive condemnation upon ourselves.

All these leaders throughout history, even the terrible despots, are established by God. This includes the Roman emperor Nero who had a fascination for dipping living Christian saints in paraffin wax and lighting them for sport in his garden parties.

Consider those modern leaders in the west that the sinfully patriotic church people either hate or worship: Reagan, Bush 1&2, Trump or Clinton, and Obama. We almost never hear of a western church person praying for the likes of Clinton or Obama.

Didn’t God put these men into power too?

As an aside, there are no “Christian” governments. Ever. The command to love your enemy and not resist those who are evil precludes you or me of every entering the service of our governments. One must swear allegiance to the flag, and the leaders. You have no right to bear the sword for God. But Satan is crafty and he just might insist you kill for the preservation and growth of his kingdom of the world.

Therefore, it follows then there are times that we must disobey the pagan governments run by Satan when they demand we disobey our Master’s doctrines even if they’re still ultimately controlled by God. Some call this act one of civil disobedience. Again, we’re to be non-violent and not resist evil. But might we discover here that this civil disobedience can actually be Godly obedience?

This is a passage that few, if any, western churchgoers ever hear taught or expounded in the proper way.

Matthew 5:38-42  “You have heard that it was said, ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.’ But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you…”

Here again we see this doctrine commanded. Notice carefully that if you do not love your enemy, you are not a son of GOD.

Matthew 5:43-48  “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

“For if you love (only) those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Therefore you are to be perfect (perfectly mature), as your heavenly Father is perfect (flawless)…”

How did Jesus respond in the garden that night He was betrayed when Peter tried to cut off the head but got the ear of the high priest’s servant?

Luke 22:49-51  When those who were around Him saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” And one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered and said, “Stop! No more of this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.

Matthew 26:51-54  And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached and drew out his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword. “Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”

But, you might object, we need to protect our loved ones from evil. Our Father didn’t protect His Son from the cross, or resist the evil that put Him there. He put Him on the tree for us. This is an extremely sobering fact.

What examples of civil disobedience exist in the Word?

Courageous midwives like Shiphrah & Puah

A classic example of disobeying the government is in the book of Exodus. Satan begins his murderous assault on the males in his attempt to stop the King of king’s birth. Pharaoh commands the Hebrew midwives to kill the baby boys. Not only do they disobey the order but they lie about it too! God rewards the women. Human lives are at stake.

Notice carefully the midwives feared God vs. Pharaoh, as we should too.

Exodus 1:15-21  Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah; and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”

But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live. So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this thing, and let the boys live?” The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife can get to them.”

So God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very mighty. Because the midwives feared God, He established households for them.

Four in the furnace

In Joshua 2 we see Rahab hiding the spies and God rewards her. In 1 Samuel 14 we see the people refusing King Saul’s edict to kill his son Jonathan when Jonathan refreshed himself with honey after the battle. In 1 Kings 18 we see Obadiah disobey Jezebel and hide the hundred prophets from death. In 2 Kings the king’s daughter hides Joash so he can become king later.

And who of us is not encouraged by the valor of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to defy King Nebuchadnezzar’s command to bow down to his statue and survive the fiery furnace?

Be encouraged by seeing this modern video rendition of the fiery furnace here.

These examples are all when lives have been threatened directly.

In Daniel again, we see him asking for and getting permission to eat God’s food vs. the king’s food. It certainly could have been life threatening if he’d been caught.

The New Testament speaks

There are two distinct examples of civil disobedience in the New Covenant. First, we see the faithful Peter declaring they would not obey the ruling Jewish leaders edict to remain silent, even though the Romans at this time seemed to have no fear of these courageous disciples.

Acts 4:18-20  And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

So, they kept right on preaching God’s Word until arrested and were brought before the false religious authorities once again.

Obey God, not man

Acts 5:27-29  When they had brought them, they stood them before the Council. The high priest questioned them, saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men…”

Indeed. We too must obey God rather than man at all times. At all times.

Lastly, in Revelation we see that believers were defiant and disobey the anti-Christ…and are martyred for the privilege.

Revelation 13:15  And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

Earlier in Revelation, we see those killed for their faith and under the throne of God are crying out for revenge. God answers…

Revelation 6:9-11  When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.

A long history, and what about today

When the time comes for us in these end times of end times to practice civil disobedience to obey God we can fully trust the Holy Spirit to give us direction and leadership. We’re blessed in that we saints have a long history in which to revel…and the examples are clear and frequent.

And today, as in times of old, we can confidently refuse the governments edicts whenever necessary.

So, anything that endangers my life or those around me, I’ll do everything in my power to resist the edict. In addition,  I’ll preach to them the wrath to come, the forgiveness of sins, healing, and the joy of the glorious gospel of our Father’s Son.

If they come to kill me and I can’t flee, I’ll not resist their violence. I’ll stand between them and my loved ones, or cover them physically, but won’t resist.

If I can flee, I’ll flee as Jesus warned. I’m not a coward or afraid to die, but I’ll use my God given wisdom to stay alive as long as He wills to serve His people and kingdom.

Matthew 24:16-18  then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.  “Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak…”

There’s no mention of storing up goods and prepping extensively. Actually, we’re not to store up treasures on earth beyond the basic necessities. Give us this day our daily bread, dearest Lord.

Will we protect our vulnerable children like the midwives?

With the advent of the “scamdemic” known as Covid-19 at the time of this writing, many are wondering if and when this civil disobedience may be prudently allowed by our great God.

The demonic realms and their worldwide governments now have the technology to place nanoparticles in a vaccine that when injected can monitor and control your body, send “health” information to your smart phone and consequently on to the civil authorities. They’re able then to completely control, track, and even kill you.

Be sure of this. This is life threatening, and I’ll not willingly take any such vaccine. Or participate in anything of a similar nature. My civil disobedience in these cases is walking worthy and constitutes holy behavior as I fully represent the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Do you have oil in your lamps, and are alert for the last trumpet?

Do you have the oil in your lamps, saints, like the wise virgins? Are you completely ready to meet your God with joy and not shrink back at His appearing? It’s clear in these type passages that we’re to endure through The Great Tribulation until His return.

We’ll know the signs of His second coming. And…there’s only one last trumpet…and one return of Christ in triumph.

Luke 21:25-28  “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory. But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Matthew 24:27-31  “For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other…”

What about being on the alert?

Matthew 24:42-44  “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will…”

Will you, and are you, being faithful and sensible now to avoid hell and the lake of fire? Or are being disobediently evil in the eyes of your Creator?

Luke 45-51 “Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is not coming for a long time,’ and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards; the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth…”

Let us honor our God in all things and in all ways as we walk worthy of His kingdom and King. Maranatha, Lord Jesus!

APOSTATE FROM THE FAITH [RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD 28]

May 17, 2019 by jesusislord 4 Comments

Brethren,

This piece may seem like a fairy tale if you have spent the majority of your religious life listening to and digesting modern western Christian doctrine.

What is one of the foundational teachings of the American Gospel that is exported all over God’s earth?

Once saved always saved.

How is it postulated?

Here is the main passage by Jesus Christ the purveyors of this stance use.

John 10:27-28  “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;  and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand…”

This passage is absolutely true, praise God! But…and a big but…what does a sober, serious soldier of the cross who is seeking God and His Word do with all the multitude of conflicting passages?

Can a believer remove themselves from Christ’s hand? If so, how does this transpire? What can the Word of God teach us?

95 out of 100 walked out mad

To even question, or directly teach against, the “once-saved-always-saved” (OSAS) is certainly to not only raise eyebrows and voices, but if persisted will get one put out of the “synagogue,” the modern western church.

Once when preaching to about a hundred people in central Tennessee in the early 2000’s, I began to quote the Scriptures in this area at the end of my message. A full ninety five of the hundred souls walked out before I was finished. They were really mad. Some of the women were crying outside.

About fifteen or so interrupted me with some yelling at the top of their lungs. Several even marched right up to the front where I stood shocked, and with bulging veins and beet red faces had their fingers violently pointing to a verse in their open Bibles.

But we must always remember this following fact: The more popular, the less truth. And OSAS is very popular in the west. Extremely so.

As an aside, the early Acts type believers and church fathers never taught the OSAS doctrine. This is a verifiable fact. Why did they indeed believe this? They walked with Jesus Christ. They read and taught the Word as described by the apostles. This is not rocket science, dear one.

The Word speaks to us today

Let us now delve into the Word and see exactly what we can discern from it.

First, we see a direct contradiction of OSAS by the apostle Paul to his beloved son in the faith, our brother Timothy. In order to “fall away” one has to be positioned and secure, no?

1 Timothy 4:1  But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away (apostate) from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons…

What is the underlying Greek word that may shed some more light?

That Greek word is aphistêmi, meaning to lead away, to depart from. The list of English Words and Number of Times Used is voluminous: abstain (1), depart (1), departed (1), deserted (1), drew away (1), fall away (2), falls away (1), leave (1), left (2), let go (1), stay away (1), withdrew (1).

Here’s just a sample of the passages utilizing this Greek word.

Luke 4:13  When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

Luke 8:13  “Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away…”

Luke 13:27  and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.’

Acts 12:10  When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

Acts 19:9  But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the people, he withdrew from them and took away the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.

2 Corinthians 12:8  Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.

Hebrews 3:12  Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.

Any cursory glance will show direct references to not just departing or leaving something, but actual apostasy: Luke 8.13 (they believe for a while) and Hebrews 3.12.

Often looking at the regular Greek word without the letter “a” (meaning ‘no’) will reveal valuable clews we need in our discovery. Like a-theist (no God) we see how this works. Let’s take a look…

That Greek word is phistêmi, meaning to make to stand, to stand. The list of English Words and Number of Times Used is even more voluminous, and we’ve highlighted some of the more descriptive words: brought (1), bystanders (1),  bystanders (1), came (1), came to a halt (1), come (1), confirmed (2), establish (3), fixed (1), hold (1), lying (1), make…stand (2), placed (1), put (1), put forward (2), set (4), stand (27), stand firm (4), standing (53), standing firm (1), stands (6), stood (27), stood still (1), stood upright (1), stop (1), stopped (5), taking his stand (1), weighed (1).

If this alone doesn’t send a shudder down your spine, you may want to check your pulse, saint…

We’ve written extensively on being approved or disapproved by God based on the works of a believer. He who endures to the end will be completely and finally saved. Paul clearly states we were saved (past; Eph. 2.8), are being saved (present; 2 Cor. 2.15), and will be saved (future; Rom. 5.9-10, 13.11).

Also, the Lord Himself speaks about being erased from the book of life in His Revelation, chapter 3, when warning the few remaining saints in Sardis. The chilling description sounds a lot like modern America and the western church.

The Old Testament speaks to this too

This doctrine of erasure from the Book of Life begins long ago. The Almighty calls it a blot. First, we see He plans to utterly destroy the polluted DNA Nephilim giant infested mankind (Genesis 6.4).

Genesis 6:7  The LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.”

In another illustration after the Flood God’s servant Moses pleads for wicked Israel. But God has His mind made up. Both Israel and its leaders obviously already know about the Book of Life and being blotted out.

Exodus 32:32-33  “But now, if You will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out from Your book which You have written!” The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book…”

Now, Moses is recounting God’s wrathful and furious anger with the nation when Moses comes down from Sinai with the new Law.

Deuteronomy 9:14  ‘Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’

I think we all get the idea.

Not to be outdone, King David records in song his imprecatory (cursing) anger to add iniquity to the heinous sins of the nations. And prays-sings to have them blotted out of the Book of Life.

Psalm 69:27-28  Add iniquity to their iniquity, And may they not come into Your righteousness. May they be blotted out of the book of life and may they not be recorded with the righteous.

The New Covenant record

There are literally dozens and dozens of passages that deal with both warnings and threats of being lost after being saved. Here’s just a very brief sample of some not mentioned above. We begin with the apostle Paul’s warning of his own salvation.

1 Corinthians 9:27  but I (Paul) discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified (reprobate, adokimos).

Luke 8:13  “Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away…”

Luke 8:14  “The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked (out) with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity…”

John 15:6  “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

2 Peter 2:20  For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

Hebrews 6:4-6  For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,  and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

Hebrews 10:26-31  For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.  Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?  For we know Him who said, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 12:14  Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification (holiness) without which no one will see the Lord.

Revelation 3:5  ‘He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I (Jesus) will confess his name before My Father and before His angels…”

Objections and answers

Over the years, we’ve heard various objections to our preaching against OSAS. There’s only a few since there’s nothing new under the sun.

First, we’ve already mentioned the main one that a believer in spiritual no-man’s land can drift too far and remove themselves from the hand, the protection, of Jesus.

Second, we encounter the objection that we’re “sealed” until the day of redemption. These passages below are used in an attempt to counter the Bible’s complete teaching.

Ephesians 1:13  In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise…

Ephesians 4:30  Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

It’s true when first saved a new believer is sealed. Notice the Spirit does the sealing.

But…

This wonderful Holy Spirit is a pledge only, a down payment. The Greek word for sealed is arrabôn which is actually a real estate term, an earnest (like earnest money), a part payment in advance for security. Note this is not like a real estate “closing,” but a beginning of the contract, the covenant.

What about the pledge, you may ask.

Ephesians 1:14  who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22  Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

But is this pledge breakable? Can it be negated?

Remember in our other writings we rightly state that only one covenant is unbreakable: the one God made with Abraham. God ratified it with Himself.

God has Abraham gather the sacrifice and prepare it (Genesis 15:9-10). God puts him in a deep sleep during the day, and he’s terrorized in his sleep (v. 11).

And then…

Genesis 15:17  It came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces.

Every other covenant-contract is breakable. And in the Word, human beings are the ones who break them by their continued disobedience. God never breaks them.

You must remember, beloved, that God divorced Israel and remarried the Israel of God.

Jeremiah 3:8a  “And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a writ of divorce…”

Galatians 6:16  And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

Now then, it’s crystal clear that the Holy Spirit can be finally quenched by practiced sin. Quenching means to extinguish, to put out. Completely done.

1 Thessalonians 5:19  Do not quench the Spirit…

King David, after he repented of his heinous sin with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah her husband, pleads with God not to take the Spirit from him.

Psalm 51:11  Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Third and lastly, many point to Pauls’ words in 2 Timothy. We take the needed liberty to amplify the passage for complete understanding in its own context.

2 Timothy 2:11-13  It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; if we are faithless, He remains faithful (to deny us), for He cannot deny Himself (His Word).

The false teachers of today – the accumulated ear ticklers

How much vital false doctrine does a person need to preach-teach before they are labeled a false teacher? Especially since God has sent His prophets to them to bring correction and try to prevent the blood of their flock on their heads?

When I was first saved in the late 80’s, the Lord sovereignly sent John MacArthur to me in tape form as I listened to hundreds of his messages. After a few years I saw his refusal to search together in the areas where he was clearly wrong.

Earlier I met him at a conference and thanked him for his work in my life, then we briefly corresponded.  But when I sent a letter reproving him for falsely teaching that the Book of Hebrews was to unsaved Jews and wanting to discuss this, he never responded back.

Years ago a brother came all the way from Australia at God’s leading to rebuke John about his recent Strange Fire conference. John was attributing the works of the Spirit to Satan! This is the blaspheme of the Holy Spirit. John’s “flock” scoffed at this brother.

Many other big names, like Charles Stanley, teach OSAS. They usually use the passage from 1 John to justify their heresy if one walks away.

1 John 2:19  They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.

Others, like five point hyper-Calvinists, use the same passage. Brother John Wesley, a fierce defender of the true Word, made this proclamation long ago in the 18th century.

Calvinists, who deny that salvation can ever be lost, reason on the subject in a marvelous way. They tell us, that no virgin’s lamp can go out; no promising harvest be choked with thorns; no branch in Christ can ever be cut off from unfruitfulness; no pardon can ever be forfeited, and no name blotted out of God’s book!

They insist that no salt can ever lose its savor; nobody can ever “receive the grace of God in vain”; “bury his talents”; “neglect such great salvation”; trifle away “a day of grace”; “look back” after putting his hand to the gospel plow. Nobody can “grieve the Spirit” till He is “quenched,” and strives no more, nor “deny the Lord that bought them”; nor “bring upon themselves swift destruction.”

Nobody, or body of believers, can ever get so lukewarm that Jesus will spew them out of His mouth. They use reams of paper to argue that if one ever got lost he was never found. John 17:12; that if one falls, he never stood. Rom. 11:16-22 and Heb. 6:4-6; if one was ever “cast forth,” he was never in, and “if one ever withered,” he was never green.

John 15:1-6; and that “if any man draws back,” it proves that he never had anything to draw back from. Heb. 10:38,39; that if one ever “falls away into spiritual darkness,” he was never enlightened. Heb 6:4-6; that if you “again get entangled in the pollutions of the world,” it shows that you never escaped. 2 Pet 2:20; that if you “put salvation away” you never had it to put away, and if you make shipwreck of faith, there was no ship of faith there!!

In short they say: If you get it, you can’t lose it; and if you lose it you never had it. May God save us from accepting a doctrine that must be defended by such fallacious reasoning!

Amen…

One has to work really hard at making God’s Word stand on its head to say something it doesn’t. But it’s done all the time. All the time. To their destruction.

One big name preacher that we know who rightly teaches you can fall away and apostate is John Bevere. His excellent audio story, Affabel, details this with the judgment of the character called Faint Heart. Craig Keener the renowned modern scholar also alludes to this in his outstanding commentary on the book of Revelation.

Templeton, left, with Graham, right, in the 50’s

Three apostate men who were once believers in Christ

Do you know those who have been Holy Spirit filled only to fall away from the faith? I do…and wish I didn’t. Two of the three below were the best of friends and brothers in the Lord with me.

First, Charles Templeton was a famous American evangelist in the 1950’s. His bag man in the crusades was a young man named Billy Graham. Templeton was the headliner until he began to drift away and tried to get Graham to follow. Templeton eventually renounced the Christian faith and wrote the book Farewell To God.

Templeton preaching & as old man with Farewell To God book

Graham himself when he took over from Templeton never preached the real gospel, said he hated preaching on hell, and was a warmonger with every American President that would welcome him. Even the pagans saw his gross hypocrisy with one writing a revealing book called Prince of War.

The reason you hear nothing of Templeton and his apostasy or Graham and his terrible compromise is because the so-called church refuses to reveal its dirty laundry. The same is true dealing with the antisemitism and drunkenness that was characteristic of the miserable later life of big gun Martin Luther.

Second, Jim was as close a friend and brother as one could have. At one time he was my very best friend I ever had in my life. We talked daily for years. We cried together during our tribulations. He was at the court hearing when I was awarded custody of my children from their dysfunctional mother.

Slowly, he pulled away and would not return my calls. I could tell something was not right all along, but just dismissed it. Eventually I got the call from a mutual friend that Jim had committed suicide. He left behind two grown children and a second trophy wife. I was devastated, leaning against the washer in my finished garage where I had my home office as I took the call about his sudden death.

Jim had embezzled over a $1,000,000 in his Christian financial counseling ministry. At one time he had helped me personally and many others. But his new chosen lifestyle with his new wife demanded too much money beyond his ability to make it legitimately.

At his wake, I stood at his open casket with a pit in my stomach. My body trembled trying to make sense of it all. His new wife tried to gush that he “was with Jesus.” She even had a picture of Welcome Home propped up on his chest. I kid you not. I almost threw up.

Both on the way out and way home were one of the times I heard clearly from the Holy Spirit. The following were His chilling words describing Jim.

Thief. Liar. Deceiver.

Third, Sam was the assistant leader of a popular men’s business ministry where I was a table leader. Only a few years in the Lord, I was growing exponentially so he took me under his wing. Sam placed me in various leadership roles and empathized with my incredulity at the American gospel that was being preached from this major ministry.

Eventually, I could take no more of this defamation of the Lord’s character and openly admonished the main leader of the ministry in a leaders meeting one Saturday morning. He was an extremely powerful businessman and popular Christian author. He changed the subject. No other colleagues at the meeting stepped up. I left the ministry two weeks later.

Years later at another Christian conference I unexpectedly ran into Sam’s wife who was with another man. Turned out it was her new husband. She and I knew each other well over the years when I spent time with Sam. She recounted in exasperation the fact that Sam turned more and more self-centered, found a girlfriend, moved out of the marital home, and eventually filed for divorce. They had several grown children. Essentially, he had disavowed the faith, quit the men’s ministry, and left the church.

His former wife told me Sam was working at a small business south of town. After some basic research, I found his name and number and called. My heart was racing as my mobile phone rang. The number was out of service.

I distinctly remember feeling disjointed and lonely that day. How could this happen I inwardly cried. The comfort of God poured out in my heart, but the pain was there. The loss was real. First Jim, and now Sam. I prayed that my heart would not close up to new relationships that God might bring.

Where the worm never dies and fire never quenched

The chilling consequences of disobedience & staying sober

One of the most cryptic passages in the New Testament deals with Father God sending a delusion to fool people.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12  For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

What kind of a God would do this? The God who Is. Not The New Trinity led by the baby manger Jesus.

A serious and sober modern Christian must be a student of the Word, he must know Bible interpretation, the hermeneutics. His eternal destiny hangs in the balance. You may not employ Interpretation By Exception and misrepresent God’s character by using His Holy Bible. God forbid.

Rightly dividing the Word is crucial to being approved unto God. It’s a verifiable fact that the New Testament record is mostly corrective and instructive: don’t do that, but do this and you will live.

We must be cognizant of the Almighty’s requirements as our King.

1 Peter 1:14-17  As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth…

Hebrews 12:14  Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification (holiness) without which no one will see the Lord.

We can see now why Paul wrote these last two passages.

Colossians 1:28-29  We proclaim (not “share”) Him, admonishing (shaping the will with warning) every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete (perfectly mature) in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

2 Timothy 4:1-5  I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:  preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

We could go on and on about this. And on and on. But that’s for another day. We leave you with our image of how one can walk worthy…or apostate from the faith.

Many have to work hard at both believing and promoting the OSAS heresy by distorting and contriving the Word of our Lord. And they do a thorough job at perverting His Name. Many are caused to stumble as a result.

Let’s us never be those who do the same. Maranatha.

THE NEW TRINITY – BABY MANGER JESUS, SANTA CLAUS HOLY SPIRIT, RAMBO FATHER [DEAR BRETHREN 35]

April 25, 2019 by jesusislord 4 Comments

Dear brethren,

All of life in general, both spiritual and secular, is about trust and identity.

When you began investigating this article, most likely you never gave a thought to whether this contained a virus that would infect your device. (It didn’t!)

The same is true for any food you consumed today. You just assumed there was no poison in it. (There wasn’t!)

That’s ultimate trust.

This is in the same vein of our trust in the Lord Jesus for salvation, His leadership, His protection, and a myriad of countless other things about Him.

Now identity works the same way. We all identify with countless things in life: people, places, institutions, morals, feelings…

So then the ultimate question for you is who is the real God? How do you know for certain? Is the God you follow a Person who really exists? Or is He One who was manufactured by a slick marketing group actually influenced by Satan himself?

The turning point in a person’s life is when they stop following the God they want, and follow the God who Is.

Do you follow and “worth-ship” a baby manger Jesus, a Santa Claus Holy Spirit, and a Rambo Father? Western self-professing Christians by and large love the permissive, hyper-grace, sin tolerating baby Jesus, the materialistic ATM unlimited blessing Holy Spirit, and Rambo Father who a) kills all their enemies to protect their stored-up-on-earth mammon, and b) quickly removes Christians from their orbit who don’t or won’t agree with them.

Your eternal spiritual destiny depends on the correct identity of God.

Why might that be?

Remember when Moses struck the rock twice instead of speaking to it as God commanded? One mistake in forty years as he dealt over and over again with the defiant and belligerent nation of Israel.

God killed Moses…and his health was excellent even at one hundred and twenty years old.

But why, you will ask. That action seems so extreme.

But is this your God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever? Probably not.

Moses unfaithfully and treacherously misrepresented God’s identity, His holy character, to the masses of people, at least a million Israelites. As far as we know, this was his only slip-up…but it was a monumental one.

Here an angry God tells Moses and his brother Aaron the huge sin they have just committed.

Numbers 20:12  But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

Moses pleads with God, but eventually God tells him to shut up.

Deuteronomy 3:26  “But the LORD was angry with me on your account, and would not listen to me; and the LORD said to me, ‘Enough! Speak to Me no more of this matter.

At 120 years old, Moses is still healthy.

Deuteronomy 34:7  Although Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated.

God shows Moses the promised land…then kills and buries him.

Deuteronomy 34:4-7  Then the LORD said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.” So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day.

Again, is this the God you follow? The same yesterday, today, and forever more?

To the vast majority western Christians, and those around the world highly influenced by the western example, this is an affront to their false identity of God.

So, beloved, if you today find yourself in this camp, what do you think God has to say about your misrepresenting Him? This very real form of idolatry?

The baby manger Jesus

So then, what are the main attributes of this baby manger Jesus, this imposter of a Savior and Lord?

Well, first and foremost, He’s nice. He never, ever gets mad at or is mean to you. The Pharisees maybe, and certainly any enemy who would harm America, is mean but never you. God forbid (so to speak) if he would ever chastise His disobedient church member’s sin. He’s the harmless, benign Christmas deity.

The followers of this false Jesus say His grace always, always, always is there no matter what sins you would practice. You can never be erased from the Book of Life. You’re always approved, never disapproved. In short, this humanistic Jesus exists to serve you.

But what do the holy Scriptures report about Jesus Christ?

Revelation 1:17a  When I (the apostle John) saw Him (the glorified I AM), I fell at His feet like a dead man…

Luke 13:2-5  And Jesus said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

Matthew 17:17  And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.”

Mark 16:14  Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.

Matthew 7:21-23  “Not everyone (My disciples) who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many (of My disciples) will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS…’”

2 Thessalonians 1:6-9  For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,  dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power…

This is just a small smattering of passages that describe the part of His character that has been suppressed in all unrighteousness.

The Santa Claus Holy Spirit

So then, what are the main attributes of this Santa Claus Holy Spirit, this imposter of a Helper?

Well, first and foremost, He’s the ultimate ATM that dispenses mammon and blessings willy-nilly and without measure. He sends you to Disney World where you can eat lots of fried chicken and never get fat.

He’s the consummate Friend no matter what you do or how You treat Jesus the Holy One. He always has your back. In some religious circles, He’s actually more important than Jesus, and they pray and worship Him.

But what do the holy Scriptures report about the Holy Spirit?

Genesis 1:2  The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God (in creation) was moving over the surface of the waters.

Matthew 4:1  Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

1 Thessalonians 5:19  Do not quench (extinguish) the Spirit…

1 Timothy 4:1  But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons…

Acts 5:3-5  But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it.

Acts 5:9-10  Then Peter said to her (Sapphira, Ananias’ wife), “Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well.”  And immediately she fell at his feet and breathed her last, and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

Psalm 51:11  Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Acts 28:25-27  And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,  saying, ‘GO TO THIS PEOPLE AND SAY, “YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND; AND YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE; FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, AND WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES; OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES, AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.”‘

We pray that you clearly see that the Holy Spirit has absolutely nothing in common with the Santa Claus Spirit. Amen?

Rambo Father

So then, what are the main attributes of this Rambo Father, this imposter of the Ancient of Days?

The New Trinity devotee has carefully constructed a religious bubble in which to hide and operate. It has absolutely nothing to do with reality in the real spirit world.

Whenever a danger from any enemy threat is imagined or surfaces, they call down Rambo to blow the enemy away.

There are two major enemies in their world. First is the possible attack on their political nation that somehow might cause their stored-up-treasures-on-earth mammon to disappear. The war cry is varied but the poster child goes something like this: Let’s Make America Great Again.

The threat is that their cushy way of life might vanish. That’s why the majority of Christians here in America are highly political and vote far right for Reagan, Bushes, Trump, etc. These occultic New World Order Presidents will do the dirty deed for them: kill our enemies, and save our money. Just follow the money, dear one.

Of course, this threat is certainly real but not in the way The New Trinity devotee thinks. The charade of the New World Order and its Israeli Masonic Illuminati masters keeps people distracted. They control both sides of the “conflict,” and all the money in the world to boot. All wars are bankers wars.

By the way, anytime they want your money, they can confiscate it easily. All it takes is for them to turn off the electricity. Your imagined “freedom” is all an illusion. Our real freedom is in Christ who asks us to pray for our daily bread.

Second, Rambo Father is called into play when any so-called Christian, or even pagan for that matter, reproves or rebukes any doctrine that threatens their bubble. Instead of searching together to agree, the “intruder” is quickly and forcefully dismissed. And labeled and scorned as a heretic as well.

The intruder suffers the reproach of Christ outside the camp (Hebrews 13.13). But the deceived devotee praises and gives thanks to their New Trinity false God. What’s there not to like, they reason? He dispatched our enemy in jack time.

But what do the holy Scriptures report about the Father?

1 Thessalonians 2:7  But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children (an image of the Triune God).

Luke 19:41-42  When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city (the lost) and wept over it,  saying, “If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes…”

John 14:9b  …He who has seen Me has seen the Father…

2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Now then, the Father will send down Jesus to kill all His enemies…at the end of The Great Tribulation as we have seen earlier. But in the meanwhile, let this sink down into your ears, beloved.

Luke 9:54-56  When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”  But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives (at this time), but to save them.” And they went on to another village.

Luke 23:34a  But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”

And of course the passage that the New Trinity devotee trots out when they want to be nice and want others to treat them with kid gloves. But never ever quoting it when Rambo Father is in their hip pocket to take care of any enemy.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8  Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…

What now to escape the new Trinity?

God is holy. God is love. God is mercy. God is gracious. God is patient. But He is not the New Trinity.

To escape this snare of eternal damnation, you must know Him. He’s revealed in truth in your prayers, and in His Word that we in the west have in abundance.

It will cost you everything. Hardly anyone is warned to count the cost prior to salvation. God knows I was never warned. You too? And we won’t even mention the ugly fact in this following passage that the hyperbole Jesus uses is to give away all our excess possessions.

Luke 14:27-33  “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’

“Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to encounter the one coming against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.

“So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions…”

The current demonic tide of the New Trinity can be overwhelming if you won’t commit 100% of your entire being.

You must follow the God who Is. If not, in addition to yourself, you’ll cause others to stumble. This is a heinous sin to our great Savior and Lord.

Let us all ponder this sobering conclusion, especially for those who refuse to preach and teach the God who Is.

James 3:1  Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment (condemnation).

Romans 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

The real Trinity wants you in His kingdom and to overcome the world’s ways. He will be your Helper…but you must do it. You alone. If not, other’s blood will be on your head, dear one.

Here the final admonition to the Ephesians from the apostle Paul.

Acts 20:26-31  “Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be on the alert…”

As for me and my house, we will serve the real Lord…and be innocent of the blood of all people!
