Our sworn arch enemy Satan was stating fact when he supernaturally in great power showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world at one time. God the Father had ceded him that domain long ago and “all its glory.”
He proclaimed to Jesus, “..I give it to whomever I want.” Interestingly and frighteningly, our Master never corrected him here.
A good friend years ago prophetically exclaimed to me that foolish Christians most often think the wealth they strive for and accumulate comes from God. “I think they failed the test of God and caved to Satan,” he followed. “They’re told not to store up treasures.” He meant that in unfaithfulness they do everything they can to buffer themselves against the direct command for the kingdom of God!
“Jesus, our Friend and Guide, help us, Lord, to serve Your kingdom only. Not all the kingdoms of the world run by Satan himself. We need Your Spirit to teach us to discern the schemes of the devil. Help us to stand firm and trust in You and not in the allure of treasures offered by the kingdoms of the world.”
